I might have mentioned, but things have really slowed down over here. It's kind of disgusting! Before, I was busy from the start of the day till the end and the days and weeks went by quickly. Now that it is slow, the days really drag. I might start finding new things to do. We'll see...
The marathon training is coming along just fine. I started to add 'quality' and 'tempo' runs. Quality means interval training, or run hard, run slow, run hard, run slow. Tempo means running at a fast pace the whole time. For marathon training you train yourself to run very slowly and conserve energy. The tempo run is to help speed up what you consider slow.
I started the weightlifting program I was on over again. I took too much time off and the beginning is all light weight, high reps which is what I need. It doesn't put on a lot of muscle though. I'm still trying to reconcile the idea of training for an Ironman Triathlon in 2009 with not lifting heavy weights.

Hello my fellow American Mike! Hope you did something special for our day of Independence. I don't know if you mentioned when that Marine Corps Marathon was but good luck with that. I need to incorporate more running into my workout but being lazy, don't want to burn anymore than I do just from standing, and of course with playing basketball 3 times or more a week who needs to run! I going to the gas chamber this weekend, along with some shooting with the the M-16 and crew served weapons for drill. Suppose to get an opportunity to pistol qual too, we'll see. Should be getting some updates on my officer package this weekend aswell. I will let you know. Stay busy and run, run, run!!!!! DNOVA32
