350 Miles

Hello faithful viewers! I have eclipsed the 350 mile mark with my running. Doing the marathon training, I will be up to 40+ miles on some weeks so the 750 mark should be obtainable even if I leave in September. I could actually forecast right now but what's the fun in that? :)

I learned a lesson on this morning's long, slow run. Don't chew gum on a morning run with an empty stomach. I've been messed up all day from it!! I can't put my finger on the why or the how, but I'm sure of the what.

Props to Venus Williams for winning Wimbledon. I'm more surprised by her poor play in the last year than her winning there. I mean, come on, she's a Williams, right? By the same token, everyone needs to bow down to Roger Federer. He is clearly the Michael Jordan of tennis. Despite the fact that Nadal is his papi (check the head to head, he owns him, clay, grass, steel, it doesn't matter) he is still one of the most dominant forces in sports.

Green tea rocks. I've been drinking the heck out of it here in Iraq. Even when faced with the sweats it brings on, it is very enjoyable. My wife makes sure I have a nice rotation of new teas to try so it doesn't get boring. I'm still trying to work through the Stash Premium 80 Bag Variety Pack! There are some VERY interesting teas in there. Stash and Tazo are my favorite brands in case anyone is keeping track.

Alright, enough of my meandering thoughts. God Bless you all and stay safe. :)

I'm a tazo fan, too. Stash has some good teas, but some really "twiggy" ones.

I like the Jordan analogy, and remember, Jordan had some bad individual performances and still remained on top (Magic could usually mess him up, even at an advanced age) Plus, I hate Nadal and will never give him his dues.

Congratulations on the milestone. When is the Marathon?
